AGQM Round Robin Test Glycerol
Registration for the round robin test glycerol (purity > 98%) of the Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) is now possible.
Glycerol can be obtained with a purity of > 98%, for example as a by-product in biodiesel production. Glycerol is used worldwide as pharmaceutical glycerol or in the food industry. But when is glycerol good enough for these applications and how can this be reliably determined?
Among other things, the regulations of the European Pharmacopoeia are used for the analysis and quality control of glycerol. This and other selected standard methods are the basis for the AGQM round robin test glycerol, which will start this December. As part of this round robin test, 34 parameters are analysed, including the parameter 3-MCPD (3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol) for the first time. This parameter is also important for compliance with the specification as a food additive (E422) in accordance with Annex II of Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012.
Participating laboratories can compare their measurement expertise with many other national and international laboratories as part of the round robin test. This instrument of quality assurance has proven to be an indispensable tool in everyday life for checking and improving one's own measurement performance and for identifying and eliminating possible errors in the method, on the device or during implementation. After carrying out the round robin test, each laboratory receives an anonymised results report and a certificate of participation as proof of its own measurement expertise.
Registration for the round robin test is possible until 15th December 2023 at http://rrt.agqm-biodiesel.com. Further information can be found on the AGQM website (www.agqm-biodiesel.de) or by contacting vasb@ntdz-ovbqvrfry.qr.
