US anti-dumping duties on Argentinian biodiesel remain in force
After an intensive review, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) decided to maintain duties on imports of biodiesel from Argentina. In November 2018, the Argentinian biodiesel industry requested a review of the decision to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on the country's biodiesel exports to the United States. The DOC imposed countervailing duties ranging from 71.45% to 72.28% and anti-dumping duties ranging from 60.44% to 86.41% in 2018. Duties above 15% make biodiesel imports from Argentina too expensive for the US market, according to representatives of the Argentine biodiesel industry. However, the DOC has now determined that there are no "changed circumstances" to warrant changes in U.S. duty rates.
