Biodiesel Analytic Seminar

EN 14214 – Biodiesel Analytics Seminar from 23-25 May, 2011

Berlin, 09th February 2011 – the Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) offers a seminar on pressing issues regarding biodiesel standards, requirements and analytics.

The Fuels Quality Directive (2009/30/EC), the Renewable Energies Directive (2009/28/EC), national legislation such as, e.g., the Biofuels Quota Act, ordinances and purchasing specifications in Germany, make reference to the European biodiesel norm – EN 14214 – as quality standard. This refers to the use of biodiesel as admixture component in diesel fuel (B5 or B7) or as pure fuel for B100 in released engines. So compliance with and therefore knowledge of the parameters defining the quality of biodiesel according to the requirement norm EN 14214 are the fundamental requirement for the successful marketing of biodiesel in the European Union. Detailed knowledge of the requirement parameters of EN 14214 is essential to production, quality control and also the sales personnel of biodiesel producers and distributors.

From 23 – 25 May, 2011 the Association for Quality management of Biodiesel (AGQM) offers a seminar focusing on the analytics of these quality parameters. The seminar participants will produce biodiesel in a pilot plant, and analyze the product employing the required methods. The seminar will make participants familiar with quality and engine related aspects and communicate in-depth knowledge of the significance of the different quality parameters.

The seminar is addressed to interested specialist personnel in laboratories and quality assurance departments of biodiesel producers or the mineral oil industry as well as everyone in the biodiesel distribution sector. During the three–day seminar, intensive consulting will be available from staff of ASG Analytik Service GmbH. Attendance to this seminar is limited to six persons.
